Zebra Rank

When you hear hoofbeats behind you, don't expect to see a zebra.

Zebra Rank is a prototype developed by the NCATS Office of Rare Diseases Research (ORDR) to suggest relevant rare diseases based on specified phenotypes (i.e., symptons and/or clinical features). To get started, please specify one or more phenotype below.

After entering phenotypes, possible disease matches will appear below. The score assigned to each disease is an indicator of how strong of a match it is to the given phenotypes. This is based on the number of matching phenotypes as well as the how specific each phenotype may be to each disease.

You can also select what ontology to see results from. A ontology is knowledge base of standardized disease terms and their attributes. Different ontologies may differ in how phenotypes and diseases are connected, which will change how diseases are ranked.
